Athanasios Mouchtaris received the Diploma degree in Electrical
Engineering from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, in 1997 and the M.S.
and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Southern California (USC), Los Angeles,
in 1999 and 2003, respectively. Since 2004 he has been affiliated with the
Computer Science Department of the University of Crete, where currently he
is an Associate Professor, and with the Institute of Computer
Science of the Foundation for
Research and Technology Hellas (FORTH-ICS), Heraklion, Crete, as an
Affiliated Researcher. From 2003 to 2004 he was a Postdoctoral Researcher
in the Electrical and Systems Engineering Department of the University
of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.
His research interests include audio and speech signal processing with
emphasis on sound localization, acoustic sensor networks, microphone
arrays, immersive audio environments, spatial and multichannel audio,
parametric audio/speech modeling, sparse representations and compressed
sensing for audio/speech signals, voice conversion, speaker identification,
and speech enhancement. He has authored or co-authored more than 100
publications in various journal and conference proceedings in these areas.
He has received grants from the European Commission and the Greek General
Secretariat of Research and Technology. Dr. Mouchtaris is a member of IEEE.
