His major research area during his graduate studies was the exploitation of integration methods for the coupling of Expert Systems with commercial Data Base Management Systems for medical purposes, and his master's thesis title was "A Design Method for the Integration of Numeric Data with Production Rules". Today, his work focuses on data integration analysis and the development of the appropriate health information infrastructure and tools required for the provision of innovative, integrated Electronic Health Record (EHR) services. On-going work also includes the deployment of a component-based architecture for the monitoring of healthcare population data, the design of web-based medical browsing environments, as well as the intelligent management and communication of multimedia data.
Since 2014, he serves as the Secretary General at HL7 Hellas.
The period 2016-2018, he served as representative of the General Secretariat for Research and Innovation at the National Board of eHealth Governance.
Since 2016, he is a certified Project Management Professional.
Since 2017, he is certified in IT Service Management.
The period 2018-2021, he served as the Secretary General at the Hellenic Health Informatics Association
Since 2021, he serves as the Administrator of the Hellenic Digital Health Cluster (Director since 2022)
