  • Dec 2020: The I.C.HUMANS project (UnobtrusIve Capturing of HUman Motion ArticulatioN and Semantics) got funded. We will build a big infrastructure for human motion capture and data processing. I.C.HUMANS was among the 17 funded proposals in all scientific disciplines and the only one in the thematic area "Mathematics and Information Sciences".

  • Dec 2015: Outstanding Reviewer, IEEE ICCV 2015.
  • Nov 2015: We released our new Hand Tracker library. The new library brings a lot of bug fixes and updates, both under the hood and on the API level. We are now providing fine grained control on the tracking pipeline through python, enabling easier modification and extension of the tracker for testing and academic use. The new version is also fixing bugs that caused problems with some newer NVidia drivers and GPUs. The new library offers:We are also releasing the python scripts for this new version on github. We plan to extend the number of provided tracking scripts over time and provide better support to the users of the library through the github tools.
    • Depth based hand segmentation. No need for skin color.
    • Python API. Fine grained access to the tracking pipeline steps.
    • Tracking of two hands and hand-object tracking is now supported.
    • Improved performance (30+ fps) on modern GPUs.
  • Nov 2015: The paper on “Parameter-free Modelling of 2D Shapes with Ellipses” authored by K. Panagiotakis, A.A. Argyros, was accepted in the Pattern Recognition Journal. The code and the datasets of the paper are available here.

  • Dec 2014: Our paper on “Tracking the articulated motion of the human body with two RGBD cameras” has been accepted for publication to the MVA journal.
